Hello, I apologize for late reply. Actually using other library for example using the dmatrix method from patsy library, you can fix the knots location. 'R' also has the functionality to place the knots at desired location. By default, b-splines shown here places the knot at both ends as well as the lower quartile, median quartile and upper quartile.
